UPDATED: Scribd Document Service

Wednesday, October 21st, 2009

We are currently experiencing a problem with Scribd, the third party digital paper provider that powers the document displays in Ignite. We are working with Scribd to resolve the problem and will post an update here as soon as the cause of the problem is determined and resolved.

UPDATE: 9:10PM EDT Digital paper service is temporarily disabled until the problem with Scribd can be resolved. Visitors to auctions will still be able to download the original document to access the information.

UPDATE: 11:59PM EDT Due to a policy enforcement change at Scribd, we are discontinuing the inclusion of Scribd’s digital paper service with Ignite. In light of this, we do encourage all customers to use platform- and software-neutral file formats, such as PDF, for document uploads. More information regarding the discontinuation of the Scribd iPaper service in Ignite will be published in a separate post once our team has an opportunity to review the situation in more detail.

Image Gallery Layout Changes

Wednesday, October 14th, 2009

Based on feedback from our customers, the default image gallery layout in the Ignite auction detail templates now displays thumbnails in a grid display with five across at a fixed width. This change will affect all sites using the default templates and is intended to improve the look and flow of the page. While the change will, unfortunately, add additional vertical length to image gallery pages, the majority of the feedback we received from auctioneers indicated that the uniformity of a grid-style display was more important to them and their customers than the excessive amount of vertical scrolling now needed to view large galleries.

For select sites with limited horizontal width, there may be slight anomalies in the display on select browsers. Please use the Ignite support ticket system (Ignite login required) to report these incidents on your site as needed.

This change was brought about by feedback from auctioneers, so please keep the feedback coming (whether it be positive or negative) and know that we are listening!

Testimonial on AuctionServices web design & Ignite…

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

Check out my new Web Site:  www.serrone.com designed and built by Auction Services.

Previously I had hired the company that created the Serrone & Co. logo to build the web site. After 10 weeks of seeing nothing, I ran into Clif McCormick and Stuart Bain at the NAA Convention. I fired the other company and having already wasted money and time Clif and his crew at Auction Services got to work and finished my site in time for me to make a significant presentation.

What has surprised me the most is the capability of Auction Services IGNITE package.  I did not realize what I was buying into but having spent some time really looking at the Ignite Performance Package I was thoroughly impressed with their capabilities.

Thanks Richard Romanus and the entire Auction Services Group for a job well done.

PIP (Documents) Tracking is HERE!

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

With the last upgrade to Ignite, you now see a new button on your dashboard -  Property Information Packages. This new tool lets you track who downloads your documents! When this feature is turned on in your auction detail template, viewers will be required to fill in a short form with their contact information prior to viewing or downloading any documents you have uploaded to your documents area.

You are able to login to your Ignite account, go to the Property Information Packages tool and view a list of everyone who has downloaded documents, their name, email, location, what they downloaded and when. You can also download a spreadsheet that will contain their full contact information.

In the words of one auctioneer “Sweet… Turn that on!”

This tracking is currently only available for our website hosting customers. If you would like this feature “turned on” in your auction detail template, email support@auctionservices.com or call (540) 206-3311 and request it today.

What does it look like?

Here is a screen shot of what the report looks like once people start filling out the PIP forms:
